PAE

The USP School of Nursing’s Teaching Improvement Program aims to better the training of the post-graduation students to develop didactic activities at the undergraduate level. It is in accordance with the terms of the Ordinance GR 3588 of the 10th of May of 2005 and the PAE Guideline of the 24th of May of 2005.

The PAE is made up of two stages: Pedagogical Preparation and Supervised Teaching Training.

The Pedagogical Preparation (PP) is not attached to any undergraduate module and it is required in order to attend the Supervised Teaching Training. There are two types of activities that fulfil the PP stage and the student can choose to do one or both of them.

• Attend a course in any of USP’s Schools, that has been recognised by the Post-graduation Pro-Rectory as equivalent to the PP stage;

In the Nursing School there are two courses that fit this demand: ENC 5883 - Prática Pedagógica no Ensino Superior (PROESA) and ENO 5794 - Perspectivas Teórico-Metodológicas do Processo Ensino-Aprendizagem (PPGEn).

• Attend the Cycle of Seminars proposed by the PAE-EEUSP Committee, that happens regularly on the first and second semesters.

In the Supervised Teaching Training the student takes part in the activities developed in undergraduate courses, with a workload of 6 hours a week.

The Pedagogical Preparation must take place before the Supervised Teaching Training.
