Currently, nurses are practicing an autonomous and scientific discipline in the USA. Its practice has a holistic scope and have gained recognition by the society. Many researchers have studied the future of nursing, speculating how nurses will care for the population in 2050. They are optimistic about the future of the profession. There was an increase in the number of nursing theories in the last decade and it appears that they will continue to be produced. The discipline will further mature. The profession will continue to accumulate strength and responsibility in the field of healthcare, and nurses with advanced practice will continue to expand their scope of action... In press, see upcoming volume 28, issue 3!
